David Edwards is president and founder of Heron Wealth, which provides financial planning, investment advice and estate planning services to individuals and families across the United States and in Europe.

David graduated from Hamilton College with a concentration in History and Mathematics, and holds an MBA in General Management from Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

David contributed over 100 columns to TheStreet.com. He is quoted frequently in the press. David is a member of the Investment Adviser Association serving on the Legislation and Technology committees, and is an advisory board member for eMoney.

Prior to founding Heron Wealth, he was associated with Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and Nomura Securities developing investment products and quantitative trading models.

David competes in sailing regattas from New England to the Caribbean and coaches a home town team in New York Harbor.

Lucas Doe, CFA
Portfolio Manager


Lucas Doe is portfolio manager at Heron Wealth. He researches investments in stocks, bonds, mutual funds and exchange trade funds on behalf of clients, and performs trading and rebalancing of portfolios.
Lucas received a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Finance from Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Lucas was previously associated with Grantwood Securities in investment banking and with Fairpoint Communications as a financial analyst.

Lucas enjoys a weekly soccer game with friends. He plays competitive scrabble and was ranked third in his home country of Ghana.

Shelley Fischer, CFP®
Director of Financial Planning


Shelley Fischer works with our clients on extended financial planning, which goes beyond investment analysis and retirement planning to include reviewing wills and trusts, tax returns, mortgages, debts and other financial structures.  She teaches financial planning at Hunter College, City University of New York.

Prior to a long career in financial planning, Shelley managed the lending department at Sotheby’s New York and maintains broad connections in the arts world.

Shelley received her CFP® designation after completing all coursework at NYU's Certificate program in financial planning.  She studied French and Psychology at the University at Buffalo and French Literature at the Université Vincennes-Saint-Denis.

Shelley enjoys attending art galleries and fairs worldwide, and is committed to meditation and daily walks along the Hudson River.

Yvette Wheeler
Operations Manager


Yvette Wheeler manages day-to-day operations at Heron Wealth, including client and internal reporting, the account opening process and client onboarding, and client cash disbursements.

Yvette studied Computer Systems Technology at CUNY Queens College.  She was previously associated for over two decades with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, serving numerous roles in technology and operations.

Yvette mentors teens with BUILD.Inc, a non profit organization with programs in the NYC school system.  BUILD, Inc helps students learn the fundamentals of business while connecting with like-minded, passionate NYC professionals.  She enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family & friends.

Samantha Gorelick CFP®

Samantha Gorelick, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, educates young professionals about financial planning and investments so they can feel knowledgeable and empowered along the path to their financial goals.

Samantha received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bard College, majoring in Environmental Studies, pursued graduate studies at Prescott College in Social Ecology and completed the Financial Planning curriculum at New York University.

Samantha has a broad range of previous experiences. They include managing a full service real estate office in New York City, creating her own business line of jams with her company Gorelick Preserves, and working for a farm-to-table operation at Fishkill Farms.

Passionate about gardening and food preservation, Samantha keeps a vegetable garden in the country and enjoys adventuring outside of the city as often as possible.

Elizabeth brings an extensive background in relationship management, including more than a decade in sales with The New York Times.  Her initial projects at Heron included the successful transition of client data to our current technology platform.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Science from the University of Alabama.

She is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner™ curriculum at New York University.

A long time member of the New York Junior League, Elizabeth currently chairs the Personal Empowerment Project, a committee dedicated to introducing a variety of careers and mentoring for girls in East Harlem age 11-19.

Annelien brings extensive experience in high level private client services to Heron Wealth. She has worked within the international art world for 20 years, advising her own clients on art transactions and art asset management in Europe, the US and Asia.

Annelien is a member of the Estate Planning Council of New York City and a board member of the Foundation of the American Institute of Conservation. She writes extensively on the topics of art asset management for Trust & Estates Magazine, Private Asset Management (PAM), and Spears Wealth Management, and contributed to CNBC, Thomson Reuters, the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.

Annelien holds a BA in Marketing and Communication from Ichthus Hogeschool, Rotterdam (Netherlands) and an MA in Arts and Heritage Management from London Metropolitan University. She holds a Foundation Certificate in Art Law and a Diploma in Art Profession Law and Ethics from the Institute of Art and Law in the UK and an MSc in Leadership and Strategy (Sloan Fellowship) from the London Business School.
